Approach & Understanding of Coaching<\/h3>\n

My executive coaching is designed for academic leaders (group leaders, professors, directors) who wish to reflect on and strengthen their impact in leadership, strategy, culture, and communication. I view coaching as a collaborative development process\u2014dialogic, effective, and values-driven.<\/p>\n

I work within the framework of the three generations of coaching (according to R. Stelter \/ U. B\u00f6ning):
1st Generation \u2013 goal-oriented: addressing concrete challenges, e.g., positioning, team building, leadership clarity
2nd Generation \u2013 solution- and resource-oriented: opening up new perspectives, expanding leadership profile
3rd Generation \u2013 dialogic and meaning-oriented: individual values, identity, dealing with complexity and transformation<\/p>\n

As a Transferst\u00e4rke\u00ae coach (according to Prof. Dr. A. Koch), I place special emphasis on sustainable implementation in everyday work. Transfer effectiveness is not a side effect, but a central component of every session\u2014regardless of the coaching generation. Reflection, personal responsibility, relapse prevention, and constructive self-dialogue are key competencies in this process.<\/p>\n

My method is based on \u201cFlexible Facilitation\u201d: active listening, targeted questioning techniques, introspective process support, experiential learning (\u201cHead \u2013 Heart \u2013 Hand\u201d according to Pestalozzi), and cooperative solution development. I work with tools from systemic coaching, transfer coaching, narrative methods (e.g., storytelling), visualization, and structured decision-making processes (scenario-based decision-making).

Approach & Understanding of Coaching<\/h3>\n

My career coaching supports postdoctoral researchers in refining their professional direction, making well-considered decisions, and developing concrete next steps for their individual career paths. The coaching process is resource-oriented, appreciative, and focused on Transferst\u00e4rke\u00ae (according to Prof. A. Koch). It follows the three generations (according to R. Stelter \/ U. B\u00f6ning).<\/p>\n

1st Generation \u2013 goal-oriented: defining clear steps, preparing applications, developing target profiles 2nd Generation \u2013 solution-oriented: comparing options, exploring career paths, strengthening self-efficacy
3rd Generation \u2013 value-oriented: designing coherent career paths in harmony with individual values and life plans<\/p>\n

In addition, I work with the principles of effectuation (according to Saras D. Sarasvathy), particularly where traditional goal-orientation (as in the first generation of coaching) reaches its limits\u2014such as in cases of uncertainty, lack of clarity regarding the goal, or profound career upheavals:
1) Means-oriented rather than goal-oriented \u2013 we start with what is already available: skills, experiences, networks. These determine what is feasible.
2) Acceptable loss rather than expected return \u2013 decisions are made based on manageable risk, not on hypothetical gain.
3) Leveraging circumstances and coincidences instead of avoiding them \u2013 the unexpected is recognized as an opportunity and integrated.
4) Partnerships instead of competition \u2013 early alliances enable the creative co-construction of professional paths.
Effectuation promotes the development of individual, action-oriented career paths, particularly for postdocs \u2013 especially beyond established paths or during uncertain transitional phases.<\/p>\n
